Standing sentry

There will always be a need for perimeter and enterprise-wide security in SOA and cross-firewall XML deployments, and this is the role that the latest versions of VordelSecure, XML gateway and VordelDirector, XML security server products from Vordel are intended to provide.

These new products meet the requirements for both perimeter and pervasive enterprise-wide security based on content and identity management of XML traffic. VordelDirector delivers enterprise-wide security services that are callable as part of an SOA. These services include XML Signature, XML Encryption, security token issuance and validation, logging, and threat-analysis of XML. By its nature, this architecture is scalable and meets the performance and pervasive security requirements of large enterprises.

VordelSecure, an XML gateway, provides a broad range of threat prevention and identity management filters to protect Web Services. It sits as an in-line intermediary that filters XML traffic according to a set of configurable security rules and is available as an appliance or software solution.

Vordel claims the products address the commercial and regulatory issues influencing decisions on the roll out of Web Services based offerings by combating the threat of fraudulent Web Service usage and addressing regulatory compliance mandates. They also leverage existing security investments and apply them to new XML based services, which should reduce the overall cost of ownership of a security infrastructure. www.vordel.com/products
