ITIL-based change management

Peregrine Systems has announced an end-to-end change and release management system that is designed to help organisations automate all processes for managing software changes throughout the enterprise.

This integrates Peregrine's ServiceCenter together with professional services and IBM's Tivoli and Rational applications to help shorten the task of building an ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)-based environment. This can be a complicated task which often requires technical expertise about disparate applications and co-ordination with multiple vendors. Using it, organisations can synchronise IT and application development teams, track the location of all software assets and distribute new software releases. The solution streamlines software release management by batching multiple changes, providing a working environment to manage applications from development to production, automating release distribution and updating the configuration management database (CMDB) following a software launch. www.peregrine.com
